Tunisia Visa for Italian Citizens

Entry Requirements for Italy

Citizens of Italy and those who hold an Italian passport are allowed to enter Tunisia visa-free for up to 90 days when traveling for tourism. Italian nationals who are traveling on business or who intend to make multiple visits to the country need to apply for a Tunisia visa, which currently necessitates a visit to the Tunisian embassy to apply in person.

However, the requirements for Italy will be changed this year to allow visitors to obtain their visa online before organizing their trip. The Tunisian authorities are introducing a new online application process for the Tunisian visa.

There are only three parts to the visa application process:

  • Complete the application form online, including all necessary documentation
  • Pay the visa fee using a debit or credit card
  • Receive the approved visa by email

The new process is expected to significantly cut queues at the border after it comes into effect later this year. It will also speed up the processing of the Tunisia visa for Italian citizens and reduce the wait for a visa. It is hoped this will make Tunisia a more attractive option for Europeans traveling for work or leisure.

Passport Requirements for a Tunisian Visa

Electronic visa programs are already widely used around the world, and the new Tunisia visa will make it more convenient for tourists to visit the country for a short-term stay. Italian nationals will need to provide some basic personal information in order to comply with Tunisia visa requirements when applying for the visa. These include:

  • Name as it appears on the applicant’s passport
  • Full address
  • Date of birth
  • Nationality
  • Passport details, including expiry date
  • There will also be some security-related questions

It is essential that travelers carefully check all details when filling in the form, as mistakes or problems in the application can delay the handling of the Tunisia Visa. Tunisian authorities cannot be held responsible for setbacks that may occur as a result of incorrect information.

Application Form for a Tunisia Visa

It will only take a few minutes to complete the new online visa application form, which will be quick and easy. Applicants will need to provide some basic information about themselves and attach copies of several supporting documents. These will probably include:

  • Valid Italian passport
  • Credit or debit card to pay the visa fee
  • Current email address where the applicant can be contacted

The passport used in the application must be valid for the duration of the applicant’s stay. If your passport is close to its expiry date, it may need to be renewed before you apply for an online visa. Tunisia does not have any requirements for the passport to have additional validity beyond the duration of the traveler’s stay in Tunisia.

Travelers do not need to submit a Tunisia visa application online from Italy: it may be submitted from anywhere in the world outside of Tunisia. Once the online visa application has been submitted and approved, the eVisa will be sent to the applicant via email. It is a good idea to print a copy of the eVisa for travelers to present to the border authorities when they arrive in the country.

We advise against arranging flights and accommodation until after your visa has been approved and a copy sent to you. There are no guarantees that a visa will be granted and the Tunisian immigration department will make the final decision on this matter.

The duration of the online visa has not yet been finalized, and there are currently no details on the Tunisia tourist visa fee. Please check back on this site for updates on the validity of the visa and any other policy terms announced by the Tunisian authorities.
