Tunisia Visa for Romanian Citizens

The process of obtaining a visa for Tunisia for Romanian citizens will soon be simplified once the Tunisian government introduces the eVisa for eligible nationals in the coming months. The Tunisia eVisa project was initiated in collaboration with the World Tourism Organization (WTO) in order to further promote tourism and facilitate entry into Tunisia.

Entry Requirements for Romanian Nationals

Romania is among 97 countries that do not currently need a visa if they wish to travel to Tunisia for short stays. Entry to Tunisia is visa-free for Romanian citizens who are traveling for leisure or a family visit. The maximum stay in the country, in this case, is 90 days.

Romanian citizens who wish to work or study in Tunisia or stay for more than 3 months, need to obtain a visa. Currently, they are required to personally visit either the Tunisian Embassy in Bucharest or the consulate in Timisoara to submit a visa application.

However, after the eVisa for Tunisia comes into effect, there will be no further need to contact the embassy or consulate. In addition, Tunisia visa requirements for Romanian citizens will be simplified to include:

  • Filling out an online application form
  • Paying for the visa processing fee online through a secure payment system
  • Receiving the visa approval by email and printing out the visa

Please note that the requirements for a Tunisia visa online for Romanian citizens may change at any time. Therefore, it is advisable to check the Tunisia Visa website frequently for updates.

What Documents Do I Need to Complete a Tunisia Visa Application Form?

To apply for a visa for Tunisia from Romania, visitors need to have the following documents:

  • A valid Romanian passport
  • An unexpired debit or credit card for paying the visa fee online
  • An active email address for all correspondence regarding the status of the visa

The applicant’s passport must be valid until the return date from Tunisia. There is no requirement for longer validity. However, it is important to keep in mind that Tunisia eVisa is directly linked to the passport number.

For this reason, travelers must enter the country with the same passport they used to apply for a visa. If the passport expires in less than the minimum required amount of time, the candidate has to obtain a new one before applying for a visa.

Visa Application for Romanian Citizens

Applying for a visa to Tunisia for Romanian citizens is a simple online process, and it takes less than 10 minutes to complete. Applicants will be asked to provide some personal and passport details including:

Applicants can pay for the visa processing fee using any major debit or credit card and then submit the application form. Most applications will be processed quickly, and the approved eVisa will be received by email in a matter of days. The validity of a Tunisia eVisa is expected to be between 2 and 4 weeks.
