If you’re a Russian citizen planning to travel to Tunisia for the purposes of tourism, you should be aware that you can enter Tunisia visa-free for up to 90 days. Russian travelers who are in the country on business and those who want to stay longer than the maximum permitted period need to apply for a Tunisia visa.
The current requirements for Russia when applying for a travel visa make it necessary to visit a Tunisian embassy in person. However, a brand new online application is being introduced later this year that will streamline the previous Tunisian visa application and make it possible for Russian travelers to apply online before they book their trip.
It is hoped that the new visa process will be much less complicated and make the Tunisia visa for Russian citizens effortless and stress-free. It will also reduce queues at the border and cut back on the time applicants generally spend waiting for their visa to be processed.
The visa application process involves three simple steps:
- Complete the application form online, including all necessary documentation
- Pay the visa fee using a debit or credit card
- Receive the approved visa by email

What Documents Do I Need to Complete a Tunisia Visa Application Form?
With the new online visa application form, Russian travelers will only need a few minutes to fill in all the details. Applicants will need to provide some basic information and include copies of several supporting documents. These include:
- Valid passport from an eligible country
- Credit or debit card to pay the visa fee
- Current email address where the applicant can be contacted
The passport used in the application must be valid for the duration of the applicant’s stay. Take care to check you passport and renew it if it is close to its expiry date, before you apply for the online visa. Tunisia does not stipulate a period of validity beyond the duration of the traveler’s stay as some other countries do.
Once the online visa application has been submitted and approved, the eVisa will be sent to the applicant via email. It is advisable for the traveler to print a copy of their eVisa to present to the border authorities when they arrive in Tunisia. Travelers can use the Tunisia visa application online from anywhere in the world. They do not need to be in their country of birth or nationality.
It is wise to avoid making any definite travel plans until after the visa has been approved. It is unlikely but possible for a visa to be refused, and Tunisian authorities are not responsible for any financial loss as a result of canceled travel plans.
