Spanish citizens who wish to travel to Tunisia may soon need to apply online for the Tunisia eVisa.
Nationals of Spain can currently visit Tunisia without a visa for short stays. For longer stays, it is currently necessary to apply for a visa from a Tunisian embassy or consulate.
However, this may soon change when an eVisa for Tunisia for Spanish citizens is introduced and becomes available through a simple online application. The eVisa is expected to be launched later this year.
What is the Tunisia eVisa for Spanish Nationals?
In July 2017 Tunisia announced plans to introduce an electronic visa system to expedite the process of applying for a tourist visa for the country, Once the system is implemented, it is expected that Spanish citizens will be eligible to apply.
Although Spanish citizens are not required to apply for a visa to visit Tunisia for stays under 90 days , it is expected that they will be able to use the eVisa system to obtain travel authorization for longer stays in the country.
This will greatly speed up the process of applying for a visa, and will save the hassle of arranging an embassy appointment and having to apply for a Tunisian visa in person.
