As of today, 97 nationals are allowed to enter Tunisia without a visa. The entry to Tunisia is currently visa-free for Turkish citizens who are traveling for leisure and intend to stay in the country for less than 90 days. Turkish citizens who intend to visit Turkey for more than 90 days and are traveling for a purpose other than tourism need a visa for entering Tunisia.
The Tunisian government is planning to launch a new online visa application service before the end of this year. The new system will affect citizens from Turkey and other countries who are not eligible for visa-free entry into Tunisia. Tunisia eVisa project was initiated in collaboration with the World Tourism Organization (WTO) with the purpose to promote and facilitate entry into Tunisia, a country that welcomes over 7 million visitors each year.
The eVisa to Tunisia for Turkish citizens is primarily designed for shorter stays. The exact length of validity has not yet been announced. Based on the validities of eVisas in other countries, it is expected that the Tunisia visa will allow visitors to stay in the country between 2 and 4 weeks. Turkish citizens wishing to visit Tunisia should stay updated on the information regarding the Tunisia visa requirements for Turkish citizens as soon as it becomes available.

Travelers applying for a visa for Tunisia from Turkey need to make sure that they have all the required documents before they submit their application.
- A valid passport
- A credit or debit card for visa fee payment

It is important to keep in mind that the applicant’s Turkish passport needs to be valid for the length of their stay in Tunisia. The passport does not need to be valid past the date of leaving the country.
Visa Application for Turkish Citizens
At present, Turkish citizens who require a visa for traveling to Tunisia need to be physically present at the Tunisian Embassy in the capital city of Ankara or one of the three consulates of Tunisia in Turkey in order to apply for and obtain a visa.
Once the eVisa is introduced by the end of the year, the online visa application will be a fast and straightforward process. Travelers to Tunisia will be asked to complete an application form, which can be done in a matter of minutes. In addition, the application can be done from anywhere in the world.
Visa applicants will be required to provide basic information such as name as it appears in the passport, address, date of birth, nationality, and passport details. In addition, they will be asked about their travel plans and will have to answer several security questions.
Sharing all the above information is necessary in order to establish the temporary nature of Turkish nationals’ stay in Tunisia and confirm the purpose of their travel. Providing incomplete or incorrect information may result in visa delay or denial. It is therefore essential to make sure that all the details provided in the application are correct.
Note that visa approval is not guaranteed and the final decision on granting it is made by Tunisian immigration.
