Tunisia Visa Requirements for UK Citizens

Apply for Tunisia eVisa from United Kingdom

Most nationalities who are traveling to Tunisia for tourism are allowed to stay in the country for up to 90 days visa-free, including citizens of the UK. Brits wanting to stay beyond the 90-day period or who need to make multiple visits to the country will need to apply for a Tunisia visa, as will anyone traveling for business purposes.

An interview in person at the Tunisian Embassy is currently one of the requirements for the UK when applying for a visa. This is set to change later this year with the opening of a new online application form for the Tunisia visa. Travelers will be able to apply for a visa online before they book their holiday.

The new process is expected to reduce waiting times for the visa to be processed and make it easier than ever to get a Tunisia visa for British citizens. It is also hoped that it will drastically cut the queues that travelers often experience at border control and make travel to the country more convenient.

The visa application process involves three simple steps:

  • Complete the application form online, including all necessary documentation
  • Pay the visa fee using a debit or credit card
  • Receive the approved visa by email

We will be publishing frequent updates regarding the launch of the Tunisia online visa, so check back if you are planning a visit to Tunisia soon.

Visa Requirements for Tunisia from the UK

Visa-free entry into Tunisia is available to citizens of 97 different countries, including the UK and other countries in the European Union. For those who need a Tunisia eVisa to enter the country, the process will be easier when the online visa becomes available later this year.

There are several Tunisia visa requirements that need to be met for British citizens. Applicants will need to provide some personal information:

  • Name as it appears on the applicant’s passport
  • Full address
  • Date of birth
  • Nationality
  • Passport details, including expiry date
  • There will also be some security-related questions

Travelers should be certain to check that all the details on the form are correct before submitting,  as any errors in the form can cause delays in receiving the Tunisia Visa. The Tunisian authorities take no responsibility for delays resulting from incorrect information being provided.

How to Apply for a Visa for Tunisia

The new Tunisia visa application form for UK citizens will only take a few minutes to complete and be much more straightforward than the current visa system. All applicants will have to submit some essential information, along with several identity documents. These include:

  • Valid UK passport
  • Credit or debit card to pay the visa fee
  • Current email address where the applicant can be contacted

The passport used in the application must be valid for the duration of your stay in Tunisia. Any passport that is close to its expiry date may need to be renewed before you apply for an online visa. Tunisia does not have any requirements for the passport to have additional validity beyond the duration of the stay.

The Tunisia eVisa for UK citizens will be sent to the applicant via email once the application has been submitted and approved. It is, therefore, possible for travelers to use the Tunisia visa application form online from anywhere in the world, without needing to be in their country of residence.

We do advise that travelers print a copy of the visa as proof to show to the border authorities on arrival in Tunisia.

Please note that the visa does not guarantee entry and the final decision is made by Tunisian border officials. It is not advisable for applicants to book flights or accommodation until after they have received confirmation that their visa has been approved.

There are currently no details on the Tunisia tourist visa fee for UK citizens, and the duration of the online visa has not yet been finalized. Please check back on this site for updates on the validity of the visa and any other policy terms announced by the Tunisian authorities.
